Guadalmina Baja, San Pedro de Alcantara
Guadalmina (“River of the Mines”) refers to a small river in the province of Málaga and to the residential area at its mouth on the beach of San Pedro, near Puerto Banús and Marbella. Situated on the south-eastern slope of the Sierra Bermeja mountain, the lush and spectacular river valley features the quaint town of Benahavís as well as Roman baths from the 3rd Century AD and the ruin of the Basilica of Vega del Mar, a palaeo-Christian temple from the 4th Century AD.
A lot of people have come to live or spend their holidays in Guadalmina to enjoy the golf courses nearby. In the valley alone, these include The Marbella Club Golf Resort in Benahavís, the Monte Mayor Golf Club, Atalaya Golf and Country Club, Nueva Atalaya, and Club de Golf Guadalmina.
Guadalmina Baja (Lower Guadalmina) is the residential area just south of the N340 national road and east of the Guadalmina Course. Various residential complexes here provide private pools and gardens, 24-hour security, and parking. Among these are Urbanización Linda Vista Playa, Urbanización del Marqués del Duero, and Urbanización Monte Carlo. Property types in the area include luxury villas, townhouses, and apartments in a wide range of prices and offering a variety of luxury features. If you want your home to be in lush surroundings, walking distance from the beach, and with quick access to the motorway as well as Puerto Banús and Marbella, then Guadalmina Baja is a great location.
