Stage 3 -Villa Cascada – La Zagaleta

In this episode we continue to follow the construction of this amazing villa in La Zagaleta. It has been 2 months since our last visit and huge progress has been made. The basement level is now complete and the first floor slab has been poured leaving just the roofing slab to be made. We also visit the cavernous basement which is currently supported by props and where Chris Warren from Renson Management explains how the props need to stay in place for up to 28 days, during this time are gradually thinned out according to the lab results for the concrete mix. We also meet Oscar Guerreo, one of the owners of the construction company RUGUE who is building the villa. Oscar and Chris explain the importance of site management and site meetings between the site managers, architect, technical architect and project manager every week- They also explain how every event in the building process is mapped on a critical path plan which is created more than 2 months in advance of the construction and which changes according to progress and events on the ground.
