Stage 1: Groundwork begins

Excavation work for the basement level of Villa Mozart has proven to be a tougher task than anticipated, due to the presence of bedrock close to the surface on the plot. Digging down to the depth required has not only taken more time than expected – over three weeks – but has also required the use of heavy machinery to penetrate the substrata.
